What does putting a company dormant mean?
Dormancy is a temporary cessation of activity. The company continues to exist legally but no longer carries out commercial activity. You keep your company number.
Do I still need to file annual accounts?
Yes, even when dormant, your company must continue filing annual accounts with the National Bank and declare corporate tax (empty or near-empty return).
How long can dormancy last?
There is no legal maximum duration. However, the enterprise court may pronounce judicial dissolution if the company remains inactive for a long period without justification.
